Figurine Tiger Young King

A young tiger turns its head and roars in this tiny copper figure. The mouth is wide open on small fangs, the ears are round and pricked, and the tail curls up and over in a loose loop behind the back. Fine chiseled lines run across the whole body to suggest fur, and the raised parts have been rubbed bright while the hollows stay dark, which gives the piece an aged, antique look.

A pocket-sized young king

Indian stories have long cast the tiger as a king of the land, and this cub already has the attitude, one front paw stepping forward as if to claim its ground. At only a few centimeters long, it sits easily on a desk, a bookshelf or in a display case beside other small metal pieces, and it shows its detail best when seen up close. Larger and painted pieces are gathered in our tiger figurine collection.

Size and material

The figurine measures 3.4x1.7x2cm and is made of copper. Its golden-brown patina is darker in the grooves of the fur and lighter on the face, legs and tail. Because it is so small, it is a decorative object rather than a toy for young children.
