Antique Brass Tiger Statue

A brass tiger prowls forward on this sculpture, head held low and jaws open in a snarl that shows its fangs. One front paw is lifted mid-stride, the long tail sweeps down behind it, and the coat is worked in rippling strokes of fur across the shoulders and flanks rather than painted stripes. The metal shines bright gold on the back and darkens to bronze in the hollows, which gives the piece its antique look.

The pose reads from every side. Seen from the front, the face turns slightly toward the viewer with a hard, fixed stare; seen from the other flank, the head drops below the shoulders as the tiger pushes forward.
