This tiger rises up on its hind legs, one front paw lifted level with its head with the pads and claws on show, the other stretched out to the side. Its jaws are wide open on long white fangs, and its pale orange coat is crossed by bold black stripes from the shoulders down to the ringed tail.
A tiger caught in a fighting stance
Tigers rear up like this when they wrestle or strike at a rival, and the pose gives the figurine a lot of movement for its size. The tail sweeps along the ground behind the hind paws.
