Hindu Tiger Painting

A tiger's face sits at the heart of a burst of color in this square print, mirrored left and right like a kaleidoscope. Its fur breaks into pinks, purples, oranges and turquoise around black stripes and pale eyes, while purple lilies, green leaves, curling vines and sparkles radiate outward over a green background of geometric triangles.

A symmetrical pop art design

The mirrored layout gives the piece the balance of a mandala, and the rays above the head read like a crown. The bright palette lifts a white or neutral wall and suits a living room, a bedroom or a creative space. In India the tiger has long held a place in religious imagery, most famously as the mount of the goddess Durga, and this contemporary design borrows that sense of ceremony. Our article on the place of the tiger in art explores those traditions, and more colorful and classic tigers fill our tiger canvas collection.

Canvas, frame and sizes

The design is printed in HD directly onto a cotton and linen canvas, in three square sizes: 30x30cm, 40x40cm and 50x50cm. It comes framed or with no frame, and the canvas size chart helps compare the formats.
