A watercolor tiger in shades of ice
The design mixes two techniques: firm black strokes for the stripes and the ears, fine white whiskers, and loose blue washes that bleed past the lines. The drips give it the look of fresh paint, and the cold palette replaces the usual orange coat with turquoise, cobalt and navy. The tigers of the Russian Far East live through long, snowy winters, and this frosty version of the animal recalls them.
