A tiger head sculpted in high relief tops this ring, its heavy brow pulled into a frown above narrowed eyes and a short row of bared teeth. Thick tufts of fur frame the jaw and spill down toward the band, and the rounded ears stand up at the back of the head.
Claws raking the shank
Below the head, the shank is carved with a row of curved claws set in deep scratches, as if the tiger had just dragged its paw across the metal. The silver has an antiqued, brushed finish, darker in the hollows of the fur and the claw marks and lighter on the brow, the nose and the ears, which gives the face its depth. Seen from the side, the head reaches well forward of the band, so this is a large ring that fills the top of the finger.
