A tiger head with a steady, lowered gaze sits on top of this steel ring, mouth closed, ears rounded and hollow, and a dark line running up the middle of its brow. It is the face of a resting tiger rather than a roaring one, calm and watchful.
An antiqued finish on every stripe
The steel is darkened in the grooves and left bright on the high points, so the stripes, the rough texture of the fur and the long bridge of the nose stand out in contrast, the way they do on old silverware. The stripes carry on from the cheeks down both sides of the band, which keeps the pattern going well past the head. Among the open-jawed designs in our tiger ring collection, it is one of the quieter faces.
