Tiger Tibetan Carpet

Drawn in the flat style of old Tibetan tiger carpets, a striped tiger spreads across a dark red field on this rug. Its head sits at one end with a pink nose and whiskers fanning out, its four legs reach toward the corners on pink-clawed paws, and its long tail curls back over the body. Large black spirals mark the shoulders and haunches, and cream borders dotted with black spots trace the edges of the coat like the rim of a pelt.

A traditional Tibetan motif

In Tibet, tiger rugs were woven to show a tiger laid out flat, and they became linked with protection and with meditation practice, where the tiger stood for courage and a calm mind. Size, material and care

The rug measures 84 x 60 inches, a good size for a bedroom or a living room, and a thin black edge frames the red field. It is made of 100% polyester with a heat dye sublimation print. Regular vacuuming keeps it clean, and marks come off with a damp cloth or sponge and a mild detergent.
