Caught in a roar, the tiger head on each of these earrings has round staring eyes, a wrinkled snout and a mouth thrown wide open. The mouth is cut right through the metal, so the upper and lower fangs frame an open space and light passes through the middle of the face.
An open-mouthed tiger in antique silver tone
The silver-tone finish is darkened in the recesses, around the eyes, in the folds of the brow and along the stripes of the cheeks, which gives the heads an old, carved look. Small rounded ears sit on top, and a loop above the brow links each head to a fish hook ear wire. The pair hangs as drops that move with the head. The earrings are made of zinc alloy with a silver-tone finish. Each tiger head measures 24x30mm. They come as a pair, on fish hook ear wires for pierced ears.
