Black & White Tiger Painting

Painted in broad strokes of gray, black and white, a tiger turns its head to the left in profile, its gaze fixed on something out of view. Bare branches rise in the dark background, and the light falls on the muzzle, the whiskers and the ruff along the cheek.

A painterly tiger in grayscale

The image shows the hand of the painter: quick, loose strokes describe the fur on the shoulder and back, while the face is worked in finer detail around the eye and the stripes. The horizontal composition leaves room for the tiger's shoulder and the shadowy trees behind it. In grays only, it settles into a neutral living room, and one of the product photos shows it above a white sofa.
