Gold Tiger Ring with Ruby Eyes

Framed by a border of black enamel triangles, a tiger head rises from the center of this gold-tone ring, its eyes set with two small red stones and its open mouth touched with orange. The head sits on a hammered oval field, and the broad top narrows toward the back of the band like a signet.

A border of enamel and small stones

Around the oval, the black triangles alternate with clusters of tiny pale stones, and the pattern runs on down both shoulders. The same black enamel returns in a small patch below the open mouth, tying the face to its frame. Despite the name, the red eyes are small decorative stones rather than rubies.
