Saber Tooth Tiger Backpack

Two ivory sabers hang below the jaw of the big cat printed on this backpack. Its face fills the whole front panel, amber eyes narrowed under a furrowed brow, mouth wide open on a pink tongue and rows of smaller teeth, with a tawny coat that darkens into a thick ruff around the neck.

The saber-toothed cat

Smilodon and its relatives are often called saber-toothed tigers, yet they belonged to a separate branch of the cat family that died out at the end of the last ice age. Today's tiger is a distant cousin rather than a descendant. This print imagines that lost face up close, with fangs long enough to reach past the chin. Direct digital printing keeps the detail of the fur, the whiskers and the wet gleam of the mouth. Living tigers and painted scenes join it in our tiger backpack collection.

Measurements and features

The backpack measures 11.81 x 5.51 x 17.72 inches in length, width and height, and its top carry handle has a 5.9-inch drop. The shoulder straps are padded and adjust with buckles, the back panel is covered in breathable mesh, and a mesh pocket sits on each side. Two zippered compartments open at the front, and one of them has an inner zip pocket.
