Tiger Painting Swimming in Sacred River

Only the head and shoulders of this tiger rise above the water as it swims toward the viewer, whiskers brushing the surface and pale eyes fixed straight ahead. Around it the water is dark and mostly calm, scattered with bright green duckweed, and a trail of ripples and spray marks the path of its striped body to the right.

A tiger at home in the water

Unlike most cats, tigers are strong swimmers that cross rivers and cool off in pools during the heat of the day, and this photograph catches one mid-swim. The scene is split into five canvases of stepped heights, with the face across the tallest panel at the center and the one to its right, and its reflection just below the chin. The deep green of the water fills the outer panels, so the orange and white of the coat glows in the middle of the arrangement. The title speaks of a sacred river, though the picture itself shows only the water and the animal. More prints of the big cat wait in our tiger canvas collection.

Sizes, frame and canvas

Three sizes are offered, Medium, Large and XL, and the canvas size chart gives the measurements of each. Every size comes as the canvas only, under No Frame, or Framed, mounted on a wooden frame. The print is made on a cotton and linen canvas with a reflection-free finish and is light enough to hang from a single nail.
