Splashes of magenta, turquoise, red and orange come together to form the face of a tiger on this patch. Golden eyes look out through the color, black stripes cross the brow, and thin drips of paint run down from the chin and the cheeks as if the portrait were still wet. Spatters of pink and blue fly out around the ears.
A watercolor tiger, printed
Despite the word embroidered in its name, the photo shows a printed design, which is how the soft washes, the splatter and the fine drips keep their detail. The bright palette stands out best on denim, black or white fabric, and the size suits the back of a jacket or the front of a large tote.
