Snow Tiger Pendant

Inside a crescent moon, a tiger sleeps in the snow on this pendant. The cat lies stretched over a snowy log, its orange coat dusted with white and its head resting low, in a small round picture held under a clear dome. The dome hangs inside a silver-tone crescent whose face is cut through with swirling openwork scrolls.

A crescent moon around a winter scene

The round picture is attached at a single point near the top of the moon, so it can swing inside the curve and catch the light as it moves. The snowy photograph gives the piece a quiet, wintry mood, quite different from a cast or carved tiger. In Chinese astrology the tiger is one of the twelve zodiac animals, and our article on what year is the tiger in the Chinese zodiac lists the years it rules. More designs, from carved stones to cast metal heads, fill our tiger pendant collection.

Size and materials

The pendant measures 3.7x3cm and comes on a 45cm silver-tone chain that closes with a lobster clasp. The listing gives the metal as a tin alloy. The back of the round picture is plain metal.
