A tiger's head is sculpted in the round on this pendant, ears pricked and gaze steady, with two small green stones set as its eyes. The silver is darkened in the grooves of the stripes, the whiskers and the fine dots of the muzzle, so every line of the fur stands out against the polished high points of the nose and brow.
A carved back and a scrolled bail
The reverse is as worked as the front. An openwork lattice of interlocking circles fills the back of the head, with a small raised plaque bearing a Chinese character at one side. The large bail is decorated with a scroll motif and stamped S925. Silver, size and options
The pendant is made of 925 sterling silver. It measures 29 x 27mm and weighs 21g, a solid piece with real weight on the chest. It comes on a chain of 50cm, 55cm or 60cm, or as the pendant alone. The chain shown in the photos is a thick braided style.
