Antique Tiger Pendant

Carved in relief across a rectangular block of golden-brown stone, a tiger comes down head first on this pendant. It twists over the face of the plaque with its jaws open and its tail curled high above its back, while swirling clouds rise around its paws, all inside a raised border topped with a band of scrolls. The polished back is left smooth, showing the bands of gold and brown that run through the stone like the sheen of tiger eye.

A carving in the old Chinese style

Cloud scrolls and a descending tiger recall traditional Chinese carved pendants, and the deep relief gives the piece an aged, antique look. Size and the two models

The pendant measures 30x42mm and hangs from a cord, not a chain. Two models are offered:

• Braided: a dark brown braided cord with a single black bead, marked with gold characters, above the stone.
• Pearl: a string of round golden-brown beads in the same tones as the stone.

The listed length is 55cm.
