The tiger on this pendant is caught mid roar. Its mouth is wide open on long fangs, the muzzle is dotted where the whiskers grow, the brows are drawn down over round eyes and a raised pattern marks the forehead. A thick ruff of fur frames the face in layered points, and two short ears stand up at the top.
Deep relief and dark shading
The silver is oxidized in the hollows and polished on the raised parts, so the stripes, the fur and the teeth stand out in strong contrast. The head is fully rounded, with real volume rather than a flat outline. It hangs from a ring behind the ears and a broad bail engraved with a knotted pattern.
