Tiger Shaped Rug

Four clawed paws and a curled tail spread across the floor from this pelt-shaped tiger rug. The body is a soft orange covered in dark brown stripes, the face at the left end has yellow eyes and white tufts of fur at the cheeks, and a broad beige border follows every curve of the shape.

A Tibetan tiger rug motif

The design borrows from the tiger rugs woven in Tibet, where the animal was drawn flat and stylized rather than lifelike. A white ladder-like band frames the body, and small diamond shapes in red, blue and cream, each with a dot at its center like an eye, run around the border. Sizes, material and care

Eight sizes are offered, from 80x120cm for a bedroom up to 200x300cm for a large living room, with 80x160cm, 120x160cm, 140x200cm, 160x230cm, 180x260cm and 200x250cm in between. The rug is made of velvet and polyester. The back is a white felt-like layer dotted with small black dots and flower shapes, and the rug is washed by hand.
